Por que Duchamp?
Porque ele transformou a arte para sempre.
Abriu importantes portas no campo da arte.
Fez as pessoas olharem para a arte além da estética.
Pela relevância das suas contribuições na história da arte.
Porque é o artista mais influente na produção da arte contemporânea.

Duchamp é um artista a quem devoto grande admiração, e por isso, aqui presto a minha homenagem.

Nesta exposição, a arte se alimenta da arte, apresentando uma experiência antropofágica, onde utilizo fragmentos “duchampianos” como objeto de reflexão estética da própria arte, para criar um diálogo atemporal e arqueológico entre passado e presente.

São símbolos iconográficos e arquetípicos que abitam o imaginário do mundo das artes.

A herança de Duchamp é fundamental nesse processo criativo ao promover apropriações dos seus principais ícones, essenciais no campo semântico das artes.

As referências que utilizo nestes trabalhos exploram as fronteiras do tempo e da memória, mediante diálogos e releituras de algumas das suas principais obras.

Por que Duchamp? ...
Porque suas ideias questionam as certezas e lançam dúvidas no mundo das artes.
As certezas são inertes, enquanto as dúvidas são estimulantes e motivadoras.

Na produção deste conjunto de obras, utilizo artes integradas e técnicas híbridas (pintura formal, objeto, instalação, assemblage, fotografias, e intervenção digital).

No processo criativo, também utilizo algumas referências de minhas obras antigas, que recontextualizo nestes diálogos e releituras.

Dialogar e recriar o instigante universo de Duchamp é um grande desafio, e ao mesmo tempo, é fascinante, prazeroso, e muito divertido.

É interessante pensar que essa inspiração toda vem de um conjunto de obras criadas no início do século passado. Ao pensar sobre isso, percebemos toda a potência do seu legado artístico.

Ao rever a obra de Duchamp, o público terá mais uma vez a oportunidade de refletir, questionar e aprofundar a compreensão em torno das suas ideias e pensamentos.

Because he is the most influential artist in the production of contemporary art.

Duchamp is an artist to whom I devote great admiration, and for this reason, here I honor him.

In this exhibition, art feeds on art, I present an anthropophagic experience, where I use “Duchampian” fragments as an object of aesthetic reflection of art itself, to create a timeless and archaeological dialogue between past and present.

They are iconographic and archetypal symbols that abound the imagination of the world of the arts.

Duchamp's heritage is fundamental in this creative process by promoting appropriations of his main icons, essential in the semantic field of the arts.

The references I use in these works explore the frontiers of time and memory, through dialogues and reinterpretations of some of his main works.

Why Duchamp? ...
Because his ideas question the certainties and cast doubts in the world of the arts.
The certainties are inert, while the doubts are stimulating and motivating.

In the production of this set of works, I use integrated arts and hybrid techniques (formal painting, object, installation, assemblage, photographs, and digital intervention).

In the creative process, I also use some references from my old works, which I recontextualize in these dialogues and reinterpretations.

Dialoguing and recreating Duchamp's exciting universe is a great challenge, and at the same time, it is fascinating, pleasurable, and very entertaining.

It is interesting to think that this whole inspiration comes from a set of works created at the beginning of the last century. When thinking about it, we realize the full power of his artistic legacy.

When reviewing Duchamp's work, the public will once again have the opportunity to reflect, question and deepen the understanding around his ideas and thoughts.
